Meet Our San Antonio Eye Doctor:
Dr. Omar D. Garza received his Doctorate in Optometry from the University of Houston in 1999. After a year of internships in Madrid, Spain and Spokane , WA at the Spokane US Veterans Medical Health Center, he decided to stay in WA state and practiced there for 2 years. In 2001 Dr. Garza returned to his home state of Texas.
Before buying Andros Eye Center in 2008, he was a government contractor for the UNITED STATES AIR FORCE (USAF). He was lead Optometrist for the Flying Class I (FCI) and Medical Flight Screening (MFS) programs at BROOKS CITY BASE. His expertise included comprehensive ophthalmologic and refractive examinations for all potential and future USAF pilots. He also supported the Aeromedical Clinical Services (ACS) Ophthalmology branch examining current USAF pilots who had any significant conditions such as Glaucoma, Kerataconus and Cataracts.
Dr. Garza is happily married and has two children. His Catholic faith and his family are his main priorities away from of his practice. Dr. Garza is fluent in Spanish and enjoys conversational Spanish with his Spanish speaking patients.
